Description:
Female: Head is horizontal, with a length 1.6 times greater than its width, and equal in width to the thorax. The head is mostly smooth, without hairs, with small, irregular, round punctures. The frons (forehead) is not concave, lacks transverse lines, and has lines similar to those on the vertex. The posterior ocelli are close to the edge of the compound eyes, the distance between them equal to half the diameter of the ocellus. The compound eyes are oval, with a length greater than the width (15:13), and longer than the length of the cheek. The compound eyes are hairless. The cheek is slightly swollen, with small round punctures similar to those on the frons. The antennae are 12-segmented and clavate (club-shaped). The scape (first antennal segment) is 5.5 times longer than wide and 2.8 times longer than the second antennal segment. The second and third antennal segments are equal in length, and subsequent segments become shorter. The antennal club has 6 segments, its length 4 times greater than its width, and longer than the scape (16:14).
The thorax is twice as long as it is wide. The mesoscutum (middle dorsal plate of the thorax) has two longitudinal grooves; the area between these grooves is slightly concave, with closely spaced punctures creating the median longitudinal groove. The scutellum and the mesoscutum have small, round punctures.
The forewing is longer than it is wide and 3.3 times wider than the thorax. The postmarginal vein is 1.5 times longer than the stigmal vein.
The abdomen is 4 times longer than it is wide. The anterior margin of the first abdominal tergite projects upward as a horn-like process. Abdominal segment 3 is equal in length to segments 2 and 4, but slightly wider than segments 2 and 4. Abdominal segments 5 and 6 are equal in length. The tergites of the abdominal segments have longitudinal striations running their length.
The body is black. The scape is brown, while the remaining antennal segments are black. The compound eyes are dark brown, the wing veins are brown, and the legs are yellow.
The male resembles the female in shape and color, but differs in that it lacks an antennal club; the postmarginal vein is twice as long as the stigmal vein, and the length of the fourth abdominal segment is equal to the lengths of the following abdominal segments.
