Description:
Female: Head is twice as wide as it is long, slightly wider than the thorax. The vertex behind the posterior ocelli does not abruptly bend, and lacks a transverse ridge. The posterior ocelli are adjacent to the edge of the compound eyes, with a distance between them smaller than the diameter of a single ocellus. The temples behind the compound eyes are slightly narrow, their width being only 1/3 the width of the compound eye. The frons is almost flat in the middle, lacking transverse striations, and is smooth and shiny. The area between the antennal sockets and the edge of the compound eyes is not raised and features indistinct, granular sculpturing. Compound eyes are oval, longer than wide (11:7). The distance between the two compound eyes is greater than the width of a compound eye. At 56x magnification, the compound eyes lack noticeable hairs. The gena is shorter than the length of the compound eye. The vertex and gena have fine, granular sculpturing. Antennae have 11 segments, clavate. The scape is longer than its width and five times longer than the radicle, and three times longer than antennal segment 2. Antennal segment 2 is longer than antennal segment 3. Segments 4-6 become progressively shorter, with antennal segment 6 being small, its length and width being equal. The antennal club has 5 segments; the total length of the club segments is three times greater than their greatest width and is longer than the scape.
The thorax has equal length and width. The mesoscutum lacks a median longitudinal groove, and has fine, granular sculpturing. The scutellum is slightly raised relative to the mesoscutum and is smooth. The forewing is 2.6 times longer than wide, with the postmarginal vein twice as long as the stigmal vein.
The abdomen is slightly narrower than the thorax, with a length 1.5 times its width. Abdominal tergite 1 is about 2.5 times wider than long, and its length is half the length of tergite 2. Tergite 2 has nearly equal length and width. The posterior tergites are short and narrow, and the abdomen is slightly pointed posteriorly, with the ovipositor concealed. The basal part of abdominal tergites 1 and 2 have short, longitudinal striations; the remaining parts and the posterior tergites are smooth.
The body is black. The antennae and legs are black (with the scape being dark brown). The wings are pale brownish yellow, and the wing veins are brown.
The male is similar to the female in shape and color. Antennae have 12 segments, filiform. The male genitalia have the shape shown in figure 209c.
