Latin name:Telenomus gladorus
Vietnamese Name:Ong telenomus gladorus
Family:Scelionidae
Order:Hymenoptera
Class (Group):

Female:

  • Head: The head is approximately twice as wide as it is long, slightly wider than the thorax. The vertex behind the posterior ocelli does not abruptly bend, lacking a transverse ridge. The temple behind the compound eye is broad, with its width not exceeding that of the compound eye. Posterior ocelli are positioned close to the edge of the compound eye, with the distance between them less than the diameter of the ocellus. The frons above the antennal sockets is not concave, lacking a transverse groove in the middle. The frons is mostly smooth, not bulging between the antennal sockets and the edge of the compound eye, with indistinct granular sculpture. The compound eyes are small, oval, and slightly longer than wide (ratio 8:6). The distance between the compound eyes is greater than the width of a single compound eye. At 56x magnification, the compound eyes possess short hairs. The cheek length is less than the length of the compound eye, with a mostly smooth surface. The vertex exhibits fine, small granular sculpture. Antennae are 11-segmented, clavate (club-shaped). The scape is longer than wide and about four times longer than the radicle, and approximately three times longer than antennal segment 2. Antennal segment 2 is longer than segment 3. Segments 4-6 gradually become shorter, with segment 6 having approximately equal length and width. The antennal club consists of 5 segments, with the total length of the club segments exceeding their greatest width by six times, being longer and wider than the scape.
  • Thorax: The thorax is slightly longer than wide. The mid-dorsal mesoscutum lacks a median groove, exhibiting small, slightly faint granular sculpture. The scutellum is smooth. The forewing is narrow, about three times longer than wide, with the postmarginal vein more than twice as long as the stigmal vein.
  • Abdomen: The abdomen is about twice as long as it is wide. The first tergite of the abdomen is about twice as long as wide. Its length exceeds the length of the second tergite by approximately 2.5 times. The subsequent tergites are short and narrow, with the apex of the abdomen slightly pointed. The first tergite and the base of the second tergite display longitudinal striations. The remaining part of the second tergite and the subsequent tergites are smooth.
  • Coloration: The body is black. The antennae and legs are black, with the tarsomeres of the hind legs being yellowish-brown. The wings are transparent with brown veins.
  • Male and Host: Not known.
  • Size: Body length 0.62 mm.
  • Distribution: Vietnam: Son La.
  • Type Material: 2 females (holotype and paratype), Son La (Song Ma), 3/5/1986 (V. Triapitxun).
