Latin name:Telenomus biborus
Vietnamese Name:Ong telenomus biborus
Family:Scelionidae
Order:Hymenoptera
Class (Group):

Description:

Female: Head is 1.5 times wider than long, wider than the thorax. Vertex behind the ocelli does not abruptly curve and lacks transverse ridges. Posterior ocelli are positioned close to the compound eyes, with the distance between them equal to the diameter of a single ocellus. The postocular area is narrow. The frons above the antennal sockets is slightly concave, lacking transverse striae, and is nearly smooth. Between the concave area and the margin of the compound eye, there is a slight bulge with small granular sculpture. The compound eyes are oval, longer than wide (12:8), and the distance between them is slightly less than the width of the eye. At 56x magnification, the compound eyes have short, distinct hairs. The gena is shorter than the length of the compound eye, with faint granular sculpture near the lower margin of the compound eye, and the remaining portion is smooth. The vertex has small granular sculpture. Antennae have 11 segments, are clavate (club-shaped). The scape (basal antennal segment) is longer than its width and about 4 times longer than the second antennal segment. The second antennal segment is longer than the third, with segments 4-6 gradually shortening. Segment 6 is nearly as long as wide. The antennal club has 5 segments, with the total length of the club segments approximately 4 times greater than their greatest width, and slightly longer than the length of the scape.

The thorax is slightly longer than wide. The mesoscutum (dorsal plate of the thorax) lacks a median groove; its surface is not flattened, slightly convex, and has small granular sculpture. The scutellum is small, with faint granular sculpture, and nearly smooth. The forewing is about 3 times longer than wide; the postmarginal vein is about 1.5 times longer than the stigmal vein. The hindwing is small and narrow.

The abdomen is about 2 times longer than wide, and its width is less than that of the thorax. The first tergite (dorsal abdominal plate) is short, about 3 times wider than long. The second tergite is wider than long, and its width is about 3.5 times greater than the length of the first tergite. Subsequent tergites are short and narrow, with the end of the abdomen not pointed; the ovipositor is slightly exposed. The first tergite and the basal portion of the second tergite have longitudinal striations; the remaining portion of the second tergite is nearly smooth.

The body color ranges from dark brown to black. The last 4 antennal segments are black, while the remaining segments are brown (the anterior half of the scape is yellow). Legs are yellow. The abdomen is dark brown.
