Latin name:Sparasion domes
Vietnamese Name:Ong sparasion domes
Family:Scelionidae
Order:Hymenoptera
Class (Group):

Description:

Male: Head width is 1.3 times greater than head length. The head surface is covered with numerous small, round punctations. The posterior ocelli are separated from the compound eyes by a distance greater than the diameter of a posterior ocellus. The compound eyes are nearly round and lack hairs. The frons, beneath the anterior ocellus, has two prominent protuberances. The center of the frons is not concave and has many small, round punctations. The antennae are 12-segmented and filiform (thread-like). The scape (first antennal segment) is five times longer than wide and three times longer than the second antennal segment. Antennal segments 2 and 3 are equal in length.

The thorax is longer than wide. The mesoscutum (central dorsal plate of the thorax) lacks a longitudinal groove. Both the mesoscutum and scutellum have rows of small, uneven punctations. The forewing is longer than its width, and 2.5 times longer than the thorax’s width. The postmarginal vein of the forewing is 2.5 times longer than the stigmal vein.

The abdomen is 2.8 times longer than wide and longer than the thorax. The dorsal plates of the abdomen have longitudinal grooves, and the terminal segments are wrinkled.

The body is black. The antennae are brown from the scape to segment 3, and the remaining segments (4-12) are black. The wing veins are brown. The legs are brown.

This species is closely related to S. coconcus Kozlov et Le, but they are distinguished by the protuberances on the frons, the ratio of length to width of the antennal segments, and the ratio of lengths between the postmarginal and stigmal veins of the forewing.
