Description:

This species is closely related to Scelio fomes Kozlov et Le, and they are distinguished by the following characteristics:

  • Species: Scelio fomes Kozlov et Le: The frons (area above the antennal sockets) is smooth and shiny. The posterior half of the wings is darker brown than the base. The male antennae are dark brown. The legs are brownish-yellow.
  • Species: This species: The frons above the antennal sockets has a small, honeycomb-like reticulate pattern. The forewings are light brown. The male antennae are black. The legs are dark brown. Body length: 3.4 mm. The female is not described.

Male: Not described.

Body length: 3.4 mm.

Distribution:

Vietnam: Gia Lai province.

Type Material:

  • 1 male (holotype), Gia Lai (An Khê, Buôn Lới), June 1983 (I. Darevsky);
  • 2 males (paratypes), same locality and date as above.
