Latin name:Scelio mimaces
Vietnamese Name:Ong scelio mimaces
Family:Scelionidae
Order:Hymenoptera
Class (Group):

Description:

Male: Head width is 1.4 times greater than head length. The vertex behind the posterior ocelli does not abruptly curve. The temples are not broad. The gena is shorter than the compound eye width. The vertex, frons, and temples have a small honeycomb-like reticulate pattern. The distance between the posterior ocellus and the edge of the compound eye equals the diameter of the ocellus. The gena has longitudinal grooves, with a small honeycomb-like reticulate pattern on its posterior part. The head has short white hairs. The antenna consists of 10 segments, filiform. The scape is 3.7 times longer than wide and 4.4 times longer than antennal segment 2.

Antennal segment 3 is longer than wide and slightly longer than segment 2. Antennal segment 4 is as long as wide, its length slightly shorter than that of segment 3. Antennal segments 4 and 5 are equal in length; segment 5 is shorter than wide (7:8.5). Antennal segment 6 is shorter than segment 5 and shorter than its own width (6:7). Segments 7 to 9 are as long as wide (5:5). Antennal segment 10 is shorter than wide (8:5).

The thorax is longer than wide, with its width greater than the abdomen’s width and less than the head’s width. The mesoscutum lacks a median groove, its length is twice the length of the scutellum. The mesoscutum, mesosternum, and scutellum have a small honeycomb-like reticulate pattern. The forewing is 3 times longer than wide. The posterior half of the forewing is light brown; the base is colorless, and the wing veins are pale yellow.

The abdomen is longer than wide. The length-to-width ratio of the abdominal tergites is as follows: 17:27; 14:40; 30:43; 25:40; 17:33; 11:25; 3:15. Abdominal tergites 1-6 have longitudinal grooves, while tergite 7 has a small granular pattern.

The body is black. The antennae are dark brown. The coxae are black, and the remaining leg segments are yellow-brown.
