Description:

Female: This species is closely related to Scelio apo Kozlov et Le. They can be differentiated by the following characteristics:

  • Scelio apo: The scape (first antennal segment) is five times longer than wide. Antennal segments 2 and 3 are of equal length. Abdominal tergite 3 is longer than tergite 4. There are no white hairs on the surface of abdominal tergite 1. The compound eyes are dark brown. The forewing veins are brown. Body length is 3.8 mm.

  • Scelio arion: The scape is 5.7 times longer than wide. Antennal segment 2 is longer than segment 3. Abdominal tergites 3 and 4 are of equal length. White hairs are present on the surface of abdominal tergite 1. The compound eyes are black. The forewing veins are brownish-yellow. Body length is 3.6 mm.
