Description:

This species is closely related to S. oxyae Timberlake, 1932. It is distinguished by the following characteristics: legs are dark brown, the 6th and 7th abdominal tergites are small. The ratio of length to width is as follows. Tergite 6:7 – 1:5; tergite 7:3 – 8:1. Antennal segments 4-12 of the female are black. The ovipositor protrudes. In the female, antennal segments 2 and 3 are equal in length. Antennal segments 6, 7, and 8 are also equal in length.

Males resemble females in shape and color. They are distinguished by having 10-segmented antennae that are filiform (thread-like).
