Latin name:Psilanteris silanis
Vietnamese Name:Ong psilanteris silanis
Family:Scelionidae
Order:Hymenoptera
Class (Group):

Description:

Female: Head width 1.8 times greater than length. Vertex behind the posterior ocelli not abruptly angled, temporal region narrow, its width less than the compound eye’s width. Frons not deeply concave, but wider than in other species, very clear when viewed from above. Posterior ocelli close to the edge of the compound eye, the distance between them equal to the diameter of the ocellus. Compound eyes oval, slightly round (12:10), their length greater than the length of the gena. Compound eyes without hairs, the distance between the eyes equals the width of one eye. Gena without grooves, arranged in a fan shape.

Vertex, temporal region, frons, and gena with small, irregular granular texture. Antennae 12-segmented, clavate. Scape longer than the length of antennal segment 2 by approximately 3 times. Antennal segment 2 longer than segment 3. Subsequent segments progressively shorter, segment 6 as long as it is wide. Clava 6-segmented, the total length of the clava segments greater than its greatest width by 3 times, equal in length to the scape. The ratio between the length and width of the clava segments is as follows: 3:5; 3:6; 3:6; 2.5:6; 2.5:6; 4:5.

Thorax with equal length and width. Mesoscutum without a median groove. Scutellum rounded posteriorly and slightly raised. Metanotum narrow, with small, triangular spines in the middle. Propodeum short, indistinct from above. Mesoscutum and scutellum with a texture similar to that on the head.

Forewing about 2.8 times longer than wide, without a postmarginal vein, stigmal vein 1.4 times longer than the marginal vein.

Abdomen 1.8 times longer than wide. The first tergite is shorter than the second tergite (6:8), the width of the first tergite is 2 times greater than its length. The second tergite has a width 3 times greater than its length. The third tergite has greater width and length compared to the other tergites. The width of this tergite is approximately 1.4 times greater than its length. The posterior tergites become progressively shorter and narrower. The first and second tergites have longitudinal grooves. The remaining tergites have a texture similar to that on the head and thorax.

Body dark brown. Head black. Compound eyes black. Clava segments dark brown, remaining antennal segments yellowish-brown. Mandibles yellowish-brown. Legs yellow.

Male unknown.

Size:

Body length 1.1 mm. This species differs from the previous species in the absence of a median groove, the forewings are small and narrow; and differs from the subsequent species by the head width being much greater than the length, and the gena lacking grooves arranged in a fan shape.
