Female:
Head: Width 1.7-1.8 times greater than length. Vertex behind ocelli without abrupt angulation. Temporal region narrow. Frons slightly concave medially, without transverse striae. Posterior ocelli small, adjacent to the edge of the compound eyes. Compound eyes large; the distance between them is less than 1.5 times the width of one eye. Compound eyes without setae; eye length greater than cheek length. Cheeks with short longitudinal striae near the upper mandibular angle. Vertex and frons with irregular, granular sculpture. Antennae 12-segmented, clavate. Scape length greater than width by a factor of 4, about 3 times longer than the radicle, and 3 times longer than antennal segment 2. Antennal segment 2 length greater than width by a factor of 2, longer and wider than segment 3. Subsequent segments with decreasing length compared to the preceding segments. Segments 5 and 6 approximately equal in width and length. Clava 6-segmented. Total length of claval segments greater than their greatest width by a factor of 3, and longer than the scape length. Length-to-width ratios of claval segments: 3:6; 3.5:7; 3.5:7; 3.5:7; 3:6; 4.5:4.
Thorax: Length and width approximately equal. Mesoscutum wider than long, with 2 long longitudinal grooves. Scutellum rounded posteriorly. Metanotum narrow, with a triangular median protuberance. Propodeum short. Thoracic surface with sculpture similar to that on the head. Forewings wide, with length 2.5 times greater than width and 3.4 times greater than thoracic width. Postmarginal vein reduced. Stigmal vein 1.4 times longer than the marginal vein.
Abdomen: Length 1.6 times greater than width. Tergite 1 equal in length to tergite 2, with width twice its length. Tergite 2 width 3 times its length. Tergite 3 length about twice the length of tergite 2, and longer than the combined length of the subsequent tergites. Tergite 7 very small. Tergites 1 and 2 with longitudinal grooves. The remaining tergites with granular or rough sculpture.
Color: Body dark brown. Head, compound eyes, and ocelli black. Last 5 antennal segments dark brown; the remaining antennal segments and legs yellow. Wing veins brown.
Male:
- Similar to female in form and color. Distinguished from the female by filiform antennae; scape length exceeding the radicle and antennal segment 2 by a factor of about 4; antennal segments 3 to 11 short, length shorter than width. Antennal segment 12 length 1.5 times greater than width.
Size:
Body length approximately 1.4 – 1.5 mm.
This species is similar to Psilanteris indica Mani, 1976, but differs in the proportions of antennal segments, abdominal tergites, and body color.
Distribution:
- Vietnam: Gia Lai.
Type Material:
