Latin name:Palpoteleia dornassa
Vietnamese Name:Ong palpoteleia dornassa
Family:Scelionidae
Order:Hymenoptera
Class (Group):

Description:

Female: Head width is 1.5 times greater than length, wider than the thorax. The vertex posterior to the posterior ocelli does not abruptly curve. The temple posterior to the compound eye is wide. The posterior ocelli are located near the compound eyes, the distance between them being equal to the diameter of the ocellus. The vertex and temple have small, irregular granular striations. The frons anterior to the ocellus is not concave, the longitudinal carina does not reach the anterior ocellus, the frons is almost smooth. The compound eye is oval, with length greater than width (15:12), the length of the compound eye is greater than the length of the cheek. The compound eye has short, dense hairs. The cheek posterior to the compound eye is swollen, almost smooth. There is a small, iridescent white oval mark between the lower edge of the compound eye and the base of the mandible. Antennae are 12-segmented, clavate. The scape is about 4 times longer than wide, 3 times longer than the radicle and 2 times longer than antennal segment 3. The following antennal segments become gradually shorter, antennal segment 7 has a length less than its width. The antennal club is 5-segmented, the total length of the club segments is about 2.7 times greater than their width, greater than the length of the scape. The ratios between the length and width of the club segments are as follows: 3:5; 5:6; 3:5; 4:5; 6:4.

The thorax is longer than wide (26:22). The mesoscutum has 2 longitudinal grooves, with striations similar to those on the head but fainter. The scutellum is rounded at the back, slightly swollen and smooth in the middle. The metathorax is narrow. The propodeum is short, with a small, round areola in the middle. The forewing is about 2.4 times longer than wide, the stigmal vein is 1.4 times longer than the marginal vein.

The abdomen is slightly wider than the thorax, about 2 times longer than wide. Tergite 1 is shorter than tergite 2 (7:9). Tergite 1 has a width 2.2 times greater than its length. Tergite 3 is longer and wider than the other tergites, with a width 2.2 times greater than its length. The following tergites are short and become narrower. The ovipositor is not exposed. Tergites 1 and 2 have longitudinal grooves, the posterior part of tergite 2, these grooves are fainter than the anterior part. The remaining tergites are almost smooth, with scattered small punctures.

Body color is black. Head, thorax are black. Compound eyes are black with a silver sheen. Radicle and the anterior half of the scape, the mandibles are brownish-yellow, the remaining antennal segments are brownish-black to black. Legs are yellow. Abdominal segment 1 is brownish-yellow, the remaining abdominal segments are cockroach brown.
