Adult Bird:

Generally resembles the Alpine Thrush (Zoothera mollissima) but differs in the following: the upperparts are a paler yellowish-brown, the greater and median wing coverts have pale yellowish-buff tips, the dark streaks on the underparts are paler, the belly is white, the throat and breast are paler buff, and the undertail coverts are whiter with less brown. The black markings behind the ear are larger and more distinct. The tail and legs are longer.

Eyes are brown. The beak is black, with a pale horn-brown base on the lower mandible. Legs are pale yellowish-brown.

Measurements:

Wing: 132 – 147 mm; Tail: 108 – 120 mm; Tarsus: 37 – 40 mm; Bill: 26 – 30 mm.

Distribution:

This species is distributed in Northern India, Burma, Southwestern China (Yunnan), Thailand, and Northern Vietnam (Sapa).
