Description:

This reptile species is of small size within the genus Tropidophorus. The snout-vent length is approximately 9.5 cm, and the total body length is 16 cm. The head is triangular and pointed. The body is stout, flattened, and covered with sharp, rough scales that have a median keel. The dorsal coloration is dark brown, marked with discontinuous, bright yellow transverse bands. The ventral surface is pale.

Biology and Ecology:

This species typically inhabits well-preserved forests beneath the leaf litter of the forest floor, on rock outcrops, and along streams. It has been recorded at altitudes above 800 meters in Ba Vi National Park.

The diet of this species consists of small insects such as ants and termites.

Distribution:

This species is distributed in Ninh Binh, Hanoi (Ba Vi), Thanh Hoa, and Hoa Binh provinces.
