Description:

Adults have a pale white eyebrow, sometimes tinged with buff. They possess a broad black ring around the eyes. The facial disc ranges from white to buff-brown. The throat is white. The remaining plumage generally exhibits distinct barring of white, brown, and buff-brown. Eyes are brown. The beak is gray. The legs are completely feathered.

  • Vietnam: Central and South Central regions. Previously observed only in Huế and Đà Lạt.

Habitat impacted by war and other factors. Population is small and sightings are very rare. Threat level: R (Rare).
