Adult Plumage:

Generally resembles the Burmese Black Kite ( Milvus migrans govinda ), but with lighter coloration. The back is pale brownish-gray with a slight rufous tinge. The cheeks are gray, and the chin and throat are gray or brown, but not black. The markings on the belly are whiter. Body size is slightly larger.

Measurements:

Wingspan: 455 – 490 mm; Bill length: 41 – 45 mm.

Distribution:

The Chinese Black Kite (Milvus migrans lineatus) is distributed from southern China to northeastern Myanmar and northern Vietnam.

Vietnamese Records:

This species has been recorded in Bắc Thái (Ngân Sơn, Ba Bể Lake, Đại Từ), Cao Bằng, and Vĩnh Phúc (Tam Đảo), Vietnam.
