Description:

Adult size: approximately 20 cm. Adult plumage characteristics: The head and breast are gray, with white eyebrows and a white stripe below the eye. The wings lack markings on the shoulder. The back is brown with some dark streaks. The throat and belly are white, while the flanks and undertail coverts are reddish-brown. Legs are pale green.

Distribution:

Southern Vietnam. Observed in Tràm Chim National Park, Đồng Tháp province. Habitats include marshy grasslands, and rice fields.

Breeding:

Nesting occurs from January to February and from June to October, within vegetation near the water’s edge. Clutch size: 3-7 eggs.

Status:

Resident species, not common.
