Adult Male:
Similar to P. flammeus, but the innermost secondary flight feathers lack oval, red markings and instead have red feather edges.
Adult Female:
Flanks and belly are yellowish-green; throat is white tinged with yellow.
Measurements:
Wing: 80 – 101 mm; Tarsus: 16 mm; Bill: 11 – 12 mm
Distribution:
This subspecies is distributed in China. It migrates south to Vietnam in winter, where it can be found in mountainous forests of the northern provinces. It is also found in Lâm Đồng and the Di Linh Plateau, and it’s the subspecies Pericrocotus ethologos annamensis.
