The upperparts and edges of the wing feathers are yellowish-green, with a slightly more yellowish hue on the tail. The wing feathers are brown. The tail feathers are a pale black with white tips. Female:
The upperparts are brownish with a yellowish-green tinge, and the underparts are yellow with a slight grayish-green tinge.
Eyes are brown. The beak and legs are black.
Measurements:
Wing: 45 – 55 mm; Tail: 32 – 34 mm; Tarsus: 14 – 15 mm; Beak: 15 – 17 mm.
Distribution:
This subspecies of the Purple-throated Sunbird is distributed in Myanmar, Thailand, Southern Laos, Cambodia, and Southern Vietnam. In Vietnam, specimens have been collected in Phú Khánh, Bình Thuận, Kontum, Di Linh, Tây Ninh, Đồng Nai, and Cà Mau.
