The upperparts are brownish with a yellowish-green tinge, and the underparts are yellow with a slight grayish-green tinge.

Eyes are brown. The beak and legs are black.

Measurements:

Wing: 45 – 55 mm; Tail: 32 – 34 mm; Tarsus: 14 – 15 mm; Beak: 15 – 17 mm.

Distribution:

This subspecies of the Purple-throated Sunbird is distributed in Myanmar, Thailand, Southern Laos, Cambodia, and Southern Vietnam. In Vietnam, specimens have been collected in Phú Khánh, Bình Thuận, Kontum, Di Linh, Tây Ninh, Đồng Nai, and Cà Mau.
