Diagnostic Characteristics:

The Blotched Kukri Snake (Oligodon fasciolatus) has a slightly flattened head, with a snout that protrudes over the lower jaw, and wide head scales. The body is long and slender, cylindrical, and colored brown or pale reddish-brown with very small, reticulated patterns of yellow or white. The top of the head is brown with a light-colored band at the rear of the head, which is very clear in juveniles and fades with age. The mouth edges are pale yellow, and the belly is white.

Biology and Ecology:

This snake species inhabits dry, dense forest areas in rocky mountainous regions, cliffs, or areas with stacked bedrock, as well as islands far from the mainland. It is occasionally found near cultivated areas. The diet of this reptile consists of geckos, lizards, and frogs. Each clutch contains 3-11 eggs.
