Description:
Approximately 60 cm in length. Resembles the Vega Gull (Larus vegae) but with a rounder head and a smaller bill. Adults: Upper back and wing surfaces are similar to the Vega Gull, but legs are typically yellow, and in winter, the head and neck exhibit more prominent streaking than the Yellow-legged Gull. Immature birds resemble the Vega Gull. Juveniles of the eastern subspecies are less studied.
Distribution:
Coastal areas of the Red River Delta. This species typically inhabits coastal regions.
Status:
Migratory. Uncommon.
