Identifying Characteristics:
The snake species is small in size, with a relatively slender body. It has a large head, a pale gray or pale yellowish-green dorsal coloration, sometimes appearing entirely white. It closely resembles Hydrophis ornatus, but the black and white banding is more pronounced and extends nearly one-third of the ventral surface. The dorsal surface features broad, dark transverse bands or diamond-shaped markings separated by narrow interspaces. These bands diminish or disappear entirely on the ventral side. The ventral surface is pale yellow or white. The head is yellowish-green. This sea snake species has limited documented information regarding its description, biology, and ecological habitat. It is known to be a dangerous venomous snake.
