Identification:
Morphologically, it resembles Hipposideros bicolor, possessing a noseleaf similar to the latter species. The dorsal pelage is light brown, tinged with reddish-brown, with pale basal hairs and uniformly colored outer hairs. The wing membranes are a uniform dark brown. The ears are long and the noseleaf is large. The nasal septum is triangular, broad at the base, with a narrow internasal portion that is grooved behind, separating it from the lateral sides of the anterior noseleaf. The anterior surface of the posterior noseleaf has a septum dividing it into four chambers. The forearm length (OT) is 37 mm. The Hipposideros species found in Vietnam is smaller in size (37 mm forearm length compared to 46 mm in the official form).
