Description:
This gecko is of medium size, with a body length of approximately 108-117 mm. The dorsal surface is dark brown. It exhibits a single cream or orange-yellow stripe posterior to the nape, three stripes between the forelimbs and hindlimbs, one stripe immediately posterior to the hindlimbs, and three to four stripes on the tail. The tip of the tail is sometimes white or cream-colored.
It has 8/9 infralabials; 4 postmentals; 139 scale rows around the midbody; 33 tubercles between the hind limbs; 11-12 rows of tubercular scales around the body; 1-2 large and distinct tubercles on each side of the cloaca; 11/11 subdigital lamellae on the first finger, 19/18 subdigital lamellae on the fourth finger; 12/12 subdigital lamellae on the first toe, and 22/23 subdigital lamellae on the fourth toe; claws are covered by scales with four scales.
Ecology:
This species inhabits rock crevices and caves within limestone cliffs in Lạng Sơn Province.
Distribution:
This species is endemic to Vietnam and was the second Goniurosaurus species discovered in Vietnam in 2008, following Goniurosaurus catbaensis. It was found in the limestone mountains of Lạng Sơn (at an altitude of approximately 300-400 m).
