Identification:
- Size: Small to medium. Maximum body length reaches 91mm.
- Body: Slender with four indistinct transverse dorsal bands. Tail longer than body.
- Scales: 11-12 supralabials, 10-11 infralabials. 28-30 midbody ventral scales. No precloacal or femoral pores. No enlarged femoral scales. 18-20 subdigital lamellae under the fourth toe of the hind foot. Subcaudal scales enlarged transversely.
Biology and Ecology:
- This diurnal and nocturnal reptile typically inhabits rocks near streams in coastal evergreen forests, at elevations between 10 and 200 meters.
- Activity is observed during both day and night.
- Diet consists of insects found in the habitat.
- Lays two eggs in crevices and fissures in rock faces at the beginning of the rainy season each year.
- The species name honors Vietnam.
Distribution:
- Endemic to Vietnam, first discovered in the Tức Dụp mountain area of An Giang province in 2010.
- Coexists with Cyrtodactylus grismeri, Cnemaspis tucdupensis, and Cyrtodactylus intermedius.
