Adult Male:

Resembles Gallus gallus jabouillei, but with longer neck feathers, a bright red color, each feather featuring a central, longitudinal brown stripe, and orange tips.

Adult Female:

Difficult to distinguish from other subspecies.

Distribution:

The subspecies Gallus gallus spadiceus is distributed in Southern China (Yunnan), Northern Myanmar, Northern Laos, and the Northwest region of Vietnam.
