Identification:
This relatively small snake is characterized by a pale gray or olive-green dorsal coloration, adorned with faint, paired dark spots along the midline of the back and edged spots on the flanks. The ventral and ventrolateral regions display three or four rows of yellow, pink, or pale white scales; the outer margins of the ventral scales and the adjacent scale rows are bordered with gray. The head is grayish and somewhat distinct. The body is oval-shaped and increases in size towards the posterior end; the scales are smooth. Body length is approximately 70 cm.
Biology and Ecology:
The primary diet of this species consists of fish and amphibians. This diurnal snake inhabits shallow freshwater streams, canals, wetlands, marshes, and freshwater lakes.

- Vietnam: Kontum, Tay Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City, Soc Trang, Minh Hai
- Worldwide: Also found in Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia.
