Adult Characteristics:

The plumage of the adult bird is characterized by a near-black, dark grey wing coloration. The central tail feathers display a terminal black band, approximately 50 mm wide. This black band gradually narrows towards the outer tail feathers. The feathers on the underside of the tail may have black tips or edges. The remaining plumage is off-white, sometimes with a yellowish hue. The eyes are dark brown. The beak is a greyish-blue color. The legs are pale blue.

Distribution:

This species is typically found on islands, including the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and islands surrounding Malaysia, extending towards the vicinity of Guinea.

In Vietnam, this species is only found in Côn Lôn.
