Adult:
- Dorsal: Light brownish-black.
- Wings and Tail: Brown with a slight steel-blue sheen.
- Ventral: Dark brown, with a slightly lighter chin and throat.
- Eyes: Dark brown.
- Beak and Legs: Black.

- Tail: 61 – 66 mm
- Tarsus: 8 mm
- Beak: 4 – 5 mm
Distribution:
The Palm Swift is distributed in Assam, Burma, Thailand, South Central China, Indochina, Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, and Java.
In Vietnam, the Palm Swift is relatively common, found in most mountainous and midland regions. They typically build nests on palm and areca leaves.
