Identification

The shell is cap-shaped, reaching a height of 18 mm. The spiral whorl is very low, with a pointed apex. The body whorl has four coarse spiral ridges, the uppermost being coarser and comprised of numerous evenly spaced, blunt nodules. The inner lip is small and curves outward to form a wide surface. The shell axis has 22 long, robust serrations. The water channel is well-developed and curves outwards. The outer surface of the shell axis is smooth and red, with white serrations. There are also 2-3 darker, reddish-brown lamellae on the outer lip surface.

Biology and Ecology

Limited data is available on this snail species. They inhabit areas near coral reefs in coastal and island environments.

This species holds high economic value in handicrafts and for collectors. It is currently limited in abundance.

Prohibit the collection of juvenile individuals. Strictly prohibit dynamite fishing and coral exploitation.
