Adult Birds:

The head, neck, crop, and upperparts of the body and tail are black with green and purple iridescence. The breast, belly, undertail coverts, and underwing coverts are white. The bare skin in front of and around the eyes, as well as the beak and legs, are red.

Juvenile Birds:

The plumage is similar to the adult, but the green and purple iridescence is paler. The head, neck, breast, wing coverts, shoulders, and upper tail feathers have lighter-colored spots. The beak and legs are a greyish-brown color.

Distribution:

Black Storks are distributed in the temperate regions of Europe and Asia. They migrate south during the winter. In Vietnam, Black Storks are occasionally observed in the northern delta region during the winter.
