Identification:
This snake species is of small size, with a body length of approximately 130 cm.
- Head: Green with black markings; the chin and upper lip are ivory-colored.
- Body: Light yellowish-green.
- Scales: Each smooth scale has a black border; some scales are entirely black, forming transverse bands.
- Belly: Green with black circular spots adjacent to each V-shaped notch.
Biology and Ecology:
Their primary diet consists of lizards, rodents, and other small snakes. Females lay between 6-12 eggs. Hatchlings are 15-20 cm long, resembling the adults but with brighter colors and patterns. This diurnal snake species inhabits plains and hills up to 550 meters in elevation.

- Vietnam: Yên Bái (Phiêng Bang), Bắc Thái, Nghệ An (Kỳ Sơn), Quảng Bình (Tân Ấp), Quảng Trị (Khe Sanh), Quảng Nam-Đà Nẵng, Kontum, Gia Lai, Đắc Lắc (Buôn Ma Thuột, Eakao), Khánh Hòa, Ninh Thuận, Tây Ninh, Đồng Nai (Biên Hòa, Trảng Bom), Ho Chi Minh City, An Giang, Tiền Giang, Sóc Trăng, Minh Hải (U Minh).
- Global: This agile snake is found throughout Thailand and in the northern Malay Peninsula, as well as in India and southern regions of China, and Myanmar.
Conservation Status:
This species is currently considered to be relatively common.
