Adult Characteristics:

This subspecies closely resembles Arborophila chloropus cognacqi, differing only in its slightly larger size and brighter coloration. The eyes are brown. The eyelids are reddish-gray. The beak is yellow, with a red base. The legs are yellowish, with a slight greenish hue.

Measurements:

  • Wing (male): 155 – 168 mm, (female): 150 – 166 mm; Tarsus: 44 – 42 mm; Bill: 17 – 18 mm.

Distribution:

This subspecies of the Chestnut-headed Partridge is distributed in Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. In Vietnam, the Yellow-legged Partridge is found in Muong Muon, Lai Chau, at altitudes above 800 meters.
