Adult Characteristics:

Distinguished from the subspecies Arborophila chloropus merlini by the narrower band of orange-buff coloration on the neck and chest, and a narrower and shorter white stripe above the eye. The feathers on the body lack transverse barring, instead exhibiting longitudinal streaks along the feather vanes. The eyes are brown. The skin around the eyelids is dark red. The bill is blue, with a red base. The legs are grayish-green.

Distribution:

This subspecies of the grey-legged partridge is distributed in southern Laos, Cambodia, and southern Vietnam. In Vietnam, the grey-legged partridge is found in the south-central region and throughout the south.
