Adult Bird Description:
The upperparts, wings, and tail are dark yellowish-brown (the yellowish hue less pronounced in summer), with the tail and wing feathers being slightly darker. The eyebrow area, sides of the head, and belly are gray, gradually transitioning to brown on the posterior belly and under the tail. The chin and center of the throat are white. The eyes are red. The bill is pale green. The legs are red.

Distribution:
This rail species is distributed in Southern China and Northern Indochina. In Vietnam, it has only been observed in the northern parts of Bắc Thái (Ngân Sơn) and Lạng Sơn.
